14 1/2 weeks prego
Well I am almost in my 15th week of my second pregnancy. I've felt the baby move this past week. I wasn't sure at first but have a lil more. Not everyday but here and there. Cody is still in Vegas for work. He hasn't gotten to go out once, not saying its a bad thing lol. I'm looking forward to finding out the babies sex. We're really hoping for a girl, since we already have a boy. However we will be happy either way. We go next weekend for Connor's botox appointment in Phoenix. Nervous about it but we will get through it. Lots of activites this month. I am finally getting hair appts and photoshoots lined up, so between those, school and appts for connor and myself I usually stay pretty busy. There is several Halloween activites going on too, so I hope we have a great time, since Connor will be able to enjoy it a little more this year.

Update September 2010
So lots to catch up on! We are pregnant with baby # 2! I'm in my 13th week. Hopefully we'll find the sex out late next month! Other news school is SUPER busy this semester. I am taking Accounting, Ethics, Marketing, and Management. A stressful load thats for sure. I can't seem to concentrate very well, not sure if thats because of the pregnancy or what but hopefully it subsides soon! Connor has been on a medicine called Baclofen to help with loosening up his left side. We go Oct 18 for his first set of botox injections that are suppose to help even more so in loosening up his muscles so he can use his arm and hand much better. His leg is effected but not as much as his arm and hand. His wrist is VERY tight and he has a hard time twisting it around. We're exciting and nervous at the same time about the new plan. He's doing wonderful tho. He talks great for his age. At his last dr appt for 2 years. he was 97 percentile for his height and 75th for his weight. He's a big boy! Very smart. He's into electronics. He loves cell phones, calculators, computers, etc you name it. Well I will update after his appt in Oct!

Thought I would do an update of post paxil... I've definitely encountered withdrawals. I also stopped birth control. I'm hoping to start losing weight. I was at 139 on the 5th. The medicines made me gain weight in addition to bad eating habits while Cody was deployed. I've changed up my diet some. Trying to cook healthier. I've also cut back on sodas. Not as much as I would like though!. We got a water machine for the house so were drinking a lot more water, which is wise out here in the desert. Cody is back on nights so we haven't seen really seen much of him around here. Next week he starts the range so we should start seeing him a lil more. I've began doing hair again which feels great. These past two weeks have been crazy though. We all got this stomach flu that's going around, then Connor and I have horrible sinus/allergies problems. Friday (4/16/10) I started the "Friday Fit Club" for wives here on base. It was a work out! My legs have been sore all weekend. I really need to lose about 15 to 20 lbs. A lot of people are discouraging that, because I'm "smaller" than they are but I need to get back to my "normal" weight, which is about 120. Everyone has their normal and goal weight. Whats right for me may not be right for you and vise verse. Tomorrow I am starting p90x. I will post updates on here with before and after pictures.

Changes
Wow, it's been a while since I last made a post. Things are going good here in Yuma. It's already starting to get into the 90's and it's just now April. Connor is getting to be such a big boy! He is very smart and talks SOOOO much. He will definitely fit in well with the family back in Texas. We are planning to have an early birthday party for him while we are visiting in May. School is going pretty well. Not so great in Math but I'm trying. My Meteorology class is kinda tough too but I get by lol. Cody just graduated from Corporals Course and is now going back to night crew as of tomorrow night. So maybe I'll be able to go to the gym or just for a run around the block during the day. I'm trying to get word out that I can cut hair to make a little extra money. I'm trying to lose a little weight that I put on while Cody was deployed, due to stress, eating bad, and medications. I officially stop taking my Paxil tomorrow. Today was my last day. I've done pretty good I think. I went to a dr. that started winging me off of it slowly. I'm going to be glad to get these meds out of my system. I have one more month of birth control and were still talking about whether were going to start trying for baby #2 or wait longer. We'll see!

A lot going on....
I haven't written in awhile but I really need to start more often. Since the last time I wrote my family came to visit for Connors 1st birthday then Codys parents came to visit. I still can't believe my lil baby is now... 14 months! He has gotten so big! And so smart! He got his first haircut two weeks ago. Cut an inch off but im going to make it shorter since it's so stinkin hot here. We are finally about to start Connors physical therapy. Which is one of the reasons why I decided not to move home while Cody deployed... Which in fact Cody left for Deployment Thursday morning after almost two weeks of delay. I was ready for his deployment to start so it could finish. I am hoping that this time apart we can realize things we need to work on seperately and together. Im hoping that some things will change for the better when he comes home after missing out on so much with Connor. Sounds shitty but its how I feel. I started college classes on the 16th of August. So far so good. Im glad I have this to do for myself while Cody is gone. Connor goes to bed at 9 and naps a couple times during the day so thats when I get most of my work done. I am glad it actually gives me something worthwhile to think about. I am missing my family a lot. My sister Jordan found out she is pregnant with baby #2. It sucks that I cant be there for her. I know I can stay here and do all of this. I know Im strong enough. But I also know that Im going to have some low days.
Cody should be back in Janurary sometime, I suspect towards the end, possibly beginning of Febrary. I plan on going home for Thanksgiving thru the New Year if I can make arrangments to take my math final at TCC. Otherwise ill be leaving the day after my math final. Its the only one I have to take in person, I believe.
I miss Dino like so much, even though he drove me nuts I love him! We got a new doggie, Ellie May. She is a beagle jack russel mix. She is deaf but full of energy! such a sweetie. Connor loves her, but you can tell he misses his big bud dino.
I hope I get my braces off by the time Cody comes home. I probably wont til summer 10'. I really would like to start trying for another baby next spring. I know Cody will more than likely get deployed again sometime early 2011. We talked about if he gets deployed to Afghanistan next I would move back to Texas so we could actually save money, and pay off the truck and stuff. prepare for getting out of the marine corp. Its up in the air about what we are going to do afterwards. it is either going to be joining the airforce or him going to school while i work. I would personally like to give it a year of him trying to go to school rather than the airforce. well i tried to stay up so i could talk to cody but i am pooped and need some sleep!

Mild Cerebral Palsy
Well here is an update on Connor. its just too much to type to individual ppl. About 4 months ago I really started to notice that Connor wasnt using his left hand, and kept it fisted most of the time. I then thought it was normal and that he would grow out of it. I have kept an eye on it and mentioned it to Connors new Dr. His old one was shitty. She said it seemed like he had arm parlysis (spelling) and recommended us to the Early intervention Program and to see a Neurologist in Phoenix. Yesterday was out appt. Dr Jarrar determind that it appears that Connor has a mild case of cerebral Palsy. but with physical theropy and a lot of work from us that he will get better in time and learn how to use it. His left leg is very slightly effected. We do have to go back for testing and an mri to see if we can find out what happened for him to have this!.And over the past few weeks that Ive been working with Connor to use his left hand it has improved a lot! so I have faith that Hell be doing a lot better with extra help! She also said that since its so mild that since were getting a start on it now rather than in a few years that it shouldnt effect his walking and such. He is "army" crawling around everywhere and getting faster! Today he pulled him self to a sitting postion on his own! I wanna say thank you to everyone who has asked about how it went and about how connor is doing. there are videos if you havent already seen if youre unsure of what i mean he is doing! the flopping fish one is the best one to see. Ill keep updating. Ive also pasted some info about what it is exactly!Mild Cerebral Palsy
Mild Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy symptoms vary from person to person and can change over time for the better with therapy. One thing cerebral palsy doesn't do is get worse. The brain damage which occurred and caused cerebral palsy produced the resulting symptoms for life. Severe cases of cerebral palsy may leave a person almost totally incapacitated while people with a mild case may need little specialized care.
Symptoms of mild cerebral palsy are easier to manage because the brain damage causing them isn't severe. Many children with mild cerebral palsy are diagnosed with the disorder late because the symptoms are less apparent. While the symptoms of mild cerebral palsy are the same as more severe cases, they are often dismissed as problems people think a child will outgrow. However, if there is any question your child is showing signs of a developmental delay you should contact a doctor for further testing. Especially for mild cerebral palsy children, early intervention can make a huge difference in later life.
Symptoms of Mild Cerebral PalsyChildren with mild cerebral palsy may have symptoms noticeable to parents, but misinterpreted. For example, a child with mild cerebral palsy may have a delay in talking. A parent may think the delay is due to a speech or hearing impediment while it is actually due to cerebral palsy. Many mild cerebral palsy children are taken to health professionals by their parents for evaluation and are then referred to a doctor specializing in cerebral palsy. Symptoms to watch for which might indicate mild cerebral palsy include:
Walking on tip toes (toe walking)
Keeping arms raised or suspended in air in a pose that looks like a teddy bear
Bending arms or clenching fists unknowingly
Generally lacks coordination or is considered excessively clumsy
Cautious about many participating in activities requiring lots of movement
Complains about leg pain after a normal amount of activity for other children
Legs are very tight or seem to be constantly flexed
Excessive effort required to walk or stand on the flat of the foot when reminded
Treatment for Mild Cerebral PalsyExercises are very helpful in the treatment of mild cerebral palsy. Once diagnosed, occupational therapy and physical therapy can help children gain more functionality in movement. For toe walkers, high top shoes help force the foot flat and offer extra support to the ankle joint. If the muscle contraction caused by cerebral palsy is noticeable, but light, several oral medications like baclofen or valium can be used to help with muscle release. Botox injections into specific muscles can help temporarily weaken them for 3 to 4 months at a time. Both treatments offer only temporary results.
Abilities of People with Mild Cerebral PalsyCerebral palsy affects each person differently so it is hard to determine what any one person might, or might not, be able to do. Many people with mild cerebral palsy will be able to participate in almost any activity their peers do. Mile cerebral palsy sufferers will have more success in some kinds of activities more than others. For example, mild cerebral palsy children are better steered toward participating in sports like martial arts or swimming. Sports like football, baseball or basketball require a large amount of running, which can be difficult for people with mild cerebral palsy. Just as non-disabled people have different talents and difficulties, so do those with mild cerebral palsy. Take the time to ask questions and get to know people affected with mild cerebral palsy. They are people who have faced great challenges and survived.

But today ive been really gittery and just dont feel like i can keep my legs, feet still at all! gah i hope this doesnt stay like this. Cody me and Connor are going to San Diego this weekend to get away and to see Codys friend Jarrod and his lil family. Its about 3 hours away. We really need this.
